Ketoconazole belongs to the class of drugs called imidazoles. It is a drug used for treating fungal infections, that can spread to various parts of the body. These infections generally pass through the blood stream, and include yeast infections of the mouth, skin, urinary tract. The drug is available in shampoo, tablets and cream form.

Dosage
The drug can be taken with or without food. It should be administered at least two hours before taking antacids or acid-inhibiting medications
