Enalapril Maleate Ethamsylate

             Erythromycin Estolate

Erythromycin Estolate is a widely used antibiotic for treating almost all bacterial infections, including those of eyes, nose, throat, upper and lower respiratory tract, urinary tract etc.

Erythromycin Estolate is given especially to those patients who are allergic or sensitive to sulfa drugs or penicillin.The drug is available in different forms including capsules, tablet and oral suspension

Dosage
The dosage will depend on the kind of infection being treated.
Adults: Intake of 250-400 mg every 6 hours, and total amount taken, not to exceed 4g in a 24-hour period.
Children: Intake of 15-25 mg/kg body weight depending upon the severity of infection.
Oral Suspension: Intake of ½ -2 teaspoon, depending upon body weight, or 4 times daily for 10days.

Contra- Indications: Hypersensitivity

Side Effects
The drug has certain side effects, that can affect individuals in different ways. The following are some of the side effects, that are often associated with the drug:
  • Stomach upset
  • Diarrhea
  • Loss of appetite
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Stomach cramps
