Cephalexin Doxycycline

            Celecoxib

Celecoxib is an NSAID or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug used for treating arthritis, pain, menstrual cramps, and colonic polyps. It has COX-2 selectivity. chemically, it is a diaryl substituted pyrazole.

Working
The drug acts by blocking the enzyme that makes prostaglandins (cyclooxygenase 2), resulting in lower concentrations of prostaglandins. This, in turn reduces the inflammation and its accompanying pain, fever, swelling and tenderness.

The drug is different from other NSAID in the sense, that it causes less inflammation and ulceration of the stomach and intestine and also does not interfere with the clotting of blood.

Dosage
Osteoarthritis: 200mg per day administered as a single dose or as 100 mg twice per day.
Rheumatoid arthritis: 100-200 mg twice per day.

Contra- Indications: Hypersensitivity. It should not be given to patients who have experienced allergic type reactions to Sulfonamides/ aspirin or other NSAIDs.
